What is Bus the North?
Everyone agrees: Northern BC is one of the largest regions in the province and can be difficult to navigate. This Bus the North (BTN) webpage provides you with the different transportation options that connect our communities to the people and places that matter. This connective network is made up of independent, region-wide buses and shuttles.
The goal? Increase the use of inter-community and rural transportation services across the northand help you get to where you need to go.
Locations
Accessing healthcare, education, work and family are key priorities of northerners. There are a wide range of options to travel short and long distances throughout the region, from Prince Rupert to Prince George and from Fort St. John to Williams Lake.
Don’t see your community in the list below? That means that there’s currently no bus services available through the transportation providers that are part of the Bus the North initiative.

Local Retiree Spends His Downtime Connecting Locals to the Places that Matter
When Greyhound stopped services in 2017, northern British Columbians were at a loss for how they would travel to visit family, friends or get to critical appointments. This is when local community shuttles with volunteer drivers like the one offered by Autumn Services in Fraser Lake began taking off.
“I want to make sure that people get to their destination safely and get back home safely as well.” – Mike McDougall, volunteer driver at Autumn Services
